Art on the Railings Saturday, July 2
Art on the Railings Open Art Exhibition is being held at St Mary's Church Walk and in the High Street, Chepstow, where the work of around 100 artists and crafts people will be on show.It's open from 10am - 4pm.
In Chepstow High Street TV presenter and writer Charles Evans, the No.1 Demonstrator for Daler Rowney, will be demonstrating painting with watercolours and oils. Charles will be signing copies of his new book 'Quick & Clever Watercolour Landscapes'.
Also demonstrating will be Lynne Holehouse, a Watercolour Challenge winner who will be painting with Winsor & Newton water colours. Discount vouchers and promotions for art materials will also be available.
Also in Chepstow High Street, Heritage Hall will be attempting to 'de-mystify' Gicle Printing on their Artists' Show and Sell Stand and at Church Walk visitors will be serenaded by musicians Tessa Hunt and Sigrid Hayes.
Saturday is also the final opportunity for artists to enter their work for the Chepstow National Open Art Competition 2005. The first prize is £1,500, second £1,000 and third £750, plus a number of highly commended prizes of artists' materials.
Sunday, July 3
Entries for Chepstow National Open Art Competition 2005 will be on show from 2pm - 5pm at Artists Corner Gallery in Beaufort Square, Chepstow.
Prizes will be presented by award-winning artist Gary Walton at 3pm.
All paintings will be available to purchase and with the theme being 'Chepstow First Impressions' it will be an opportunity to obtain an original painting of Chepstow. Proceeds from the sale of all paintings will go towards the art competition in 2006.
The exhibition will continue at Artists Corner Gallery until 5.30pm on Saturday July 8.
