A GROUP of pupils from Usk battled it out in a Stars in Their Eyes-style competition.
The show was held at Usk Church in Wales Primary School on Saturday and there were 29 'copycat' acts taking part - ranging from Nancy Sinatra to the Mamas and Papas.
The judges were south east Wales AM Laura Jones and Usk community policeman Phil Jones.
The infants winner was Sara Jane Waters, aged seven, who sang Cry by Kim Marsh.
The winner of the junior section was 12-year-old Rosie Huxley, who was Anastasia and sang Left Outside Alone.
Group winners were Maya Burchell-Haslett and some friends from Caerleon Comprehensive, who were the Mamas and Papas and sang California Dreaming.
And the adult competition was won by Ez Matthews, who performed These Boots Were Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra.
Kay Peacock, parent governor and lunchtime supervisor, said around 150 people attended the show and more than £500 was raised for the parent teachers' association.
She said that around 80 children took part. "We did this for the first time last year and everyone was a bit nervous. This year it was brilliant," she said.
"We will be doing it every year now."
