POLICE are still appealing for information after four Gwent men were found dead in a partially-submerged car.
The men, all from Risca were named as Scott Harding, 25, his brother Warren, 27, Andrew Brooks, 30, and Geraint Hill, 26.
They were found when their overturned Toyota Corolla was recovered from an eight-foot wide and four-foot deep reen on the B4239 between St Brides and Duffryn.
An examination of the car is being carried out to try to establish whether a mechanical fault was to blame.
The car is believed to have left the old coastal road between Newport and Cardiff sometime between 8.30pm on Saturday and 7.15am to following day.
It had been travelling towards Cardiff. Gwent Police have called the incident a freak accident and are not treating it as suspicious.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest is expected to be opened later this week to allow the families to arrange their funerals.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or the collision investigation unit on 01633 643091.
