FREDERICK Knott's classic 1950s' thriller Dial M for Murder is coming to the Riverfront Theatre on Tuesday, June 7, and staying until Saturday, June 11.
Tony Wendice (Steven Pinder, 'Brookside') is a retired tennis star who has blatantly married Sheila (Jo Brook, 'The Bill') for her money.
Feeling unloved and neglected by her errant husband during his days as a professional tennis player, Sheila embarked on an affair with Max Halliday (Richard Grieve, 'Neighbours').
However, since Tony's retirement a year ago, he has become a copybook husband and their marriage seems to be back on track.
However when Max reappears on the scene, Tony plots her murder, as he fears their love could mean the end of his lifestyle and fortune.
He enlists the help of Captain Lesgate (Richard Walsh 'London's Burning') as a hired killer who enters the flat while Tony establishes his alibi.
But who is murdered? And who is guilty? And is there any such thing as the perfect murder? (Remember Hitchcock's stylish film version shot in 3D with Ray Milland, Grace Kelly and Robert Cummings?)
This touring production is directed and designed by Michael Lunney. Ticket prices vary from £9.50 to £16 with reductions at £7.50 to £14. CLC, £7 to £13.50.
