OLD masters and schoolmasters got together to drum up £8,000 for a charity.
Fifteen male members of staff at Hartridge High School, Newport, joined forces with the art department to put together a charity calendar.
Now, the money raised by Secret Lives of the Hartridge Men 2005 will go to Cancer Research UK.
The calendar was created back in September in aid of one of the school's teachers, who was suffering from cancer.
And thanks to sponsorship from pharmaceutical company Boeh-ringer Ingleheim all the profits from the £5 calendar are to go directly to the good cause.
Cancer Research UK's community fundraiser, Dawn Williams, visited the school last week to accept the cash on behalf of the charity.
Jimmy Stokes, 51, head of the school's sixth form, organised the calendar and appears as Michel-angelo's Adam, being painted by principal Goff Davies.
Mr Stokes said: "The art department came up with the idea for the calendar and I started looking for sponsorship.
"It was great fun as the whole community got behind us. We sold it across Newport, at the Kingsway Centre, Tesco, even Gala Bingo. It was a real group effort. The charity were delighted, they said it was the biggest donation they had ever had from a school."
