FUNDRAISERS who braved the weekend rain pedalled to raise an estimated £20,000.
The third Cancer Research UK South Wales Bike Ride, was held on Sunday.
The event - sponsored by the South Wales Argus - saw cyclists of all ages and abilities set off from Tredegar House in Newport for the 15-mile ride.
All funds raised will support Cancer Research UK, the independent charity dedicated to research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer.
Its team of 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses work to investigate the causes, prevention, improved treatments and ultimately cures for the many different types of cancer.
The charity is one of the few in the world with the ability to bring a breakthrough in basic research all the way from the lab bench to the patient's bedside and it is a European leader in the development of anti-cancer drugs.
