ONE of the most popular forms of music and dance to be seen anywhere in the the world must surely be that of flamenco, hailing from the region of Spain called Andalusia.
And with such leaders of the field as the spectacular flamenco guitarist Juan Martin taking the helm, the result is simply stunning.
Having been voted one of the top guitarists in the world by the US magazine Guitar Player and named Doctor Flamenco by The Times, Juan has recently completed a highly acclaimed tour of the UK with Martins 4, a group of world-famous guitarists including Martin Carthy, Martin Taylor and Martin Simpson.
This is the cream of Spain's flamenco, according to The Times. The dance ensemble 'Arte Puro' includes the beautiful flamenco dancer Raquel de Luna from Malaga, the stunning male dancer El Tigre and the highly esteemed gypsy singer Antonio Aparacida from the province of Cadiz.
