THE head teacher of New-bridge Comprehensive School described 12-year-old Jasmine Allen as a "model pupil".
Allan Raybould said she was hard-working, honest, reliable, trustworthy, polite and sensible and "a delight to have in the school".
He said: "She was a lovely girl and a daughter any parent would be proud to call their own. We are devastated at her loss. The school and local community are obviously in deep shock. But it is a community with great inner strength."
He added: "Pupils have been offered support and counselling. "Our thoughts are with all those whose lives have been touched by this tragedy.
"We have been grateful for the strong support of the police, emergency services and local authority at this extremely difficult time for the school."
