THE family of 12-year-old Jasmine Allen, who died in a school minibus crash, paid tribute to her today.
Jasmine was one of ten children on board the minibus travelling from Hafodyrynys Road to Newbridge Comprehensive School when the accident happened yesterday morning.
The minibus collided with an oncoming Skoda car on Hafodyrynys Road and flipped on to its roof.
Jasmine was taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital, but her injuries were so severe she did not recover, and later died there.
Today her family released a statement and said: "Jasmine was the love of our life. She was taken from us tragically and for this we can see no reason. We hope the great love we have for her may help to mask a small part of the horrific pain of her loss, pain to us, her parents, her brother Karl, her sister Paige and all the family."
Flowers have been left near the crash scene, and the first bouquet was from Jasmine's brother, Karl.
The card read: "To Jasmine, I love you with all my heart and it is there where you will stay with me forever. "Rest in peace, lil' sis, love Karl xxx"
The other children on the minibus, the two adults on board and the female driver were injured in the crash.
Seven of the children were released from Nevill Hall Hospital, in Abergavenny, following treatment for minor injuries.
But one boy is still being treated there for a broken pelvis, and a girl has been transferred to the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, for treatment to head injuries.
The minibus driver, who was arrested for questionning on dangerous driving, was released on police bail.
Earlier today officers arrested another man in connection with the collision.
