A GROUP of Gwent artists is pooling their talents to raise cash for a local animal sanctuary.
Around 15 painters, potters and sculptors - including members of Newport's 21 Contemporary Artists Group - are putting on a show in aid of All Creatures Great and Small, in Llanfrechfa.
Organiser Aaltje Smith, who is displaying some of her own art, said: "There will be oil paintings, water colour, etchings, ceramics and jewellery - it should be a very enjoyable evening."
A percentage of proceeds from the artwork sold will be given to the sanctuary.
Jean Rees-Parfitt, whose pottery has attracted many plaudits, is another of those involved.
The show will take place at Greenmeadow Golf Club on Tuesday, May 24. "We would like to thank the club for providing the room for free," said Mrs Smith.
The show runs from 6pm to 9pm, and tickets, which include entry to a raffle, are £1. The club bar will be open for food and drink.
