Nigel Flanagan - Liberal Democrat. THE Liberal Democrats are experiencing their best ever general election campaign.
For many people our policies and ideas provide a real choice.
From our stand against the war in Iraq, to the replacement of the unfair council tax with a fairer local income tax, we have not only opposed the government, but we have provided a real alternative.
In Scotland, we promised to scrap tuition fees for students and personal care fees for the elderly.
We have now done this. When we are able to influence government, we deliver on our promises.
We believe that people should hear about our policies from us. We have fought a hard, but positive campaign here in Wales.
We understand that many people don't like the constant bickering, point-scoring and negativity. This is further evidence of the real alternative that the Lib Dems provide. The environment in which we live is extremely important to us.
We're the only mainstream party to include an environmental section on all our policies in our manifesto.
While an MP cannot directly affect the NHS in Wales, it is still an issue concerning many people at this election.
Having doctors and nurses bound by red tape does not help patients. The Liberal Democrats would introduce in England and encourage the Welsh Assembly to adopt, a more patient-focused NHS, providing more front-line staff and cutting bureaucracy.
The Liberal Democrat approach to Law and Order is similar. We will provide in Wales 500 more police officers and 1,000 more community support officers than the Government proposes.
We would cut the red tape keeping police officers in the police station, allowing them the time to do the job they want and are paid to do - fight crime.
We will also arm them with the technology to end their seemingly endless form filling. We are in the 21st century, after all!
Criminals who go to prison will be made to work hard and learn skills that will help them find jobs when they are released. This will give them choices that many don't have at the moment.
This election people have a choice, a real alternative. Please don't waste this opportunity and make sure your vote!
