THE New Venture Players present the smash hit musical Summer Holiday at the Dolman Theatre, Newport, from Monday, April 4, to Saturday, April 9.
While at this time of the year many of us are considering our summer holiday Newport's New Venture Players have much more to plan with their summer holiday as it's the stage musical that made a star out of Cliff Richard.
For the first time in Newport this musical takes to the stage and it promises to be one of those feelgood evenings where you won't be able to stop your feet from tapping.
A group of teenagers take a London bus to Europe and the adventures that befall them are threaded together with a succession of pop songs of the 1960s.
"With a cast of over forty including a dog (!) this production is sure to have something for everyone," says director Gordon Collins.
"If the story doesn't get you then the music certainly will.
"With songs such as Living Doll, Bachelor Boy, On the Beach, and, of course, Summer Holiday to name just a few, I am sure that everyone will have a job sitting still!"
Tickets are on sale from the visitors' centre, Newport Library, or by calling 01633 854562.
