A MASS migration of folk singers is heading from Ireland to the UK.
Damien Rice, David Kitt, and Paddy Casey have all been guilty of chart action on the Emerald Isle, with the former also bothering the top 40 in Britain.
Now Paddy Casey is trying his music on the British public, who, so far, have shown little interest.
His CD Living has just been released for a second stab at old Blighty, and the singer is on tour this month to promote it.
The song Living builds from an initially humble arrangement of acoustic guitar and bongos with extra layers of sound making for a richer audio experience.
The rest of the album follows this blueprint, and with the rolling rhythms it's the perfect soundtrack for the summer.
You can hear the new sound of the season early when Paddy Casey plays Barfly, Cardiff, on Thursday, April 21 (0870 907 0999) and Fleece and Firkin, Bristol, on Monday, April 25 (0117 983 4503).
*Tickets are £8.50.
