HUNDREDS are expected to line the streets of Pill, New-port, next week for the funeral of a well-known father-of-three who died after a stabbing incident at a city pub.

Lemy Bullock, 36, from the Pill area, died at the city's Royal Gwent Hos-pital after suffering stomach wounds at Har-vey's pub on March 15. His death sent shock waves through the close-knit community of Pill.

More than 100 floral tributes were laid outside the pub where Mr Bullock was found fatally injured, just yards from his home in Dolphin Court, Newport.

Mr Bullock's funeral will be held on Monday with a cortege leaving The Picton Arms, Commercial Road, at 1.40pm for the funeral service at St Michael's RC Church at 2pm.

Local florist and family friend Ann Barton said: "I have known him and his family for years and I always found him to be respectful. He was always smiling, a really popular person.

"I should imagine a lot of people will be at the funeral." Many of the bouquets of flowers outside the pub contained moving eulogies to Mr Bullock who has two sons, aged 14 and five, and a ten-year-old daughter.

Among the flowers was a Newport County football shirt for the Liverpool supporter.

A message on the jersey read: "RIP Lemster. You will be sadly missed. True Pill boy forever."

Last week a minute's silence was held at the Newport County football ground in honour of the popular local character.

Rob Santwris, who runs Newport County's social club, said: "Lemy was always the life and soul of every occasion.

"He will leave his family and hundreds of friends better off for knowing him."

Three men are due to appear before Newport crown court on Friday charged with Mr Bullock's murder.
