SUPPORTING Queen Adreena in South Wales next week will be the equally tortured sounds of Three Children Of Fortune.

As twisted and pleasant as razor wire, the three piece from Bath were the winners of the 2003 In The City Showcase, as won by the likes of Placebo, Coldplay and Muse.

Their music is built around the same kind of viscious guitar sound enjoyed by Queen Adreena.

It's like the tacky distortion was sent to the most expensive hairdresser on the High Street and is now sporting a brand new look.

The band's latest offering - Scarlet Fever/Flesh and Bone - comes out on Monday, March 21, through Perfect Songs/Noise Underground.

Having heard the music it came as no surprise that the band came together through their love of bands like Sonic Youth, Trail Of Dead, and Weezer.

The three met at college; Tommy Burgess (vocals), Steve Ambler (bass), and Lee Copleston (drums).

They quit college in early 2003 and entered Bath's Moles Studios to work with Paul Corkett, of Queen Adreena and The Cure fame.

It was a gamble that paid off after winning In The City the band completed two tours by the end of the year.

In 2004 Three Children Of Fortune released their limited edition debut EP Graveyard Days on ORG Records winning in the process fans on Radio One and XFM on which John Kennedy made the record single of the week.

Three Children Of Fortune play Barfly, Cardiff on Monday, March 21.
