THE 107 will become Peugeot's entry level car in the small car B segment and will be launched in the summer. Peugeot's new small car has been developed and built as part of a joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota Motor Corporation. The 107 will be manufactured at the Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobiles (TPCA) plant in Kolin, Czech Republic, alongside its two 'sister cars', Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles, 100,000 units each for Peugeot and Citroen and 100,000 for Toyota.

The Peugeot 107 has been designed and engineered on the same platform as its sister cars. The brief for the Peugeot Design Centre was to create a compact car, with an assertive character, versatile in use and, above all, totally at ease in an urban environment.

The exterior appearance radiates the feline character specific to the Peugeot marque, with large almond-shaped headlamps, a wide 'mouth', and a large, inclined front windscreen. At the rear, rounded, vertical lights frame an all-glass tailgate. The lower front panel features body-colour paintwork on all versions.

Finally, in the design of the front of the vehicle and the layout of the different mechanical components of the 107, careful attention has been paid to the consequences of a collision with a pedestrian. Thanks to a special impact beam in front of the bumper and a bonnet that creates the maximum possible distance between it and mechanical components underneath, pedestrian protection is maximised.
