THE father of two teenage boys with anti-social behaviour orders is claiming there is a vendetta against his family.
Blackwood town councillor and former mayor Delwyn Davies believes people are fabricating stories just to get his children into trouble.
Mr Davies made the comments after his eldest son, James, had a two-year Asbo imposed on him for a string of incidents which included playing a noisy game of football in his street as late as 4am.
The unemployed 19-year-old from Twyn Gardens, Cefn Fforest, must not:
l Commit any act within the Caerphilly county borough which is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person not of the same household.
l Threaten or swear at any resident or passer-by within the Caerphilly county borough.
l Cause damage to any property belonging to others.
Caerphilly magistrates court heard that Davies, who has previous convictions for failing to stop and obstructing a police officer, is said to have threatened to "get" a 16-year-old and goaded a man over claims his wife had been unfaithful with him which culminated in a blazing argument in the street.
The prosecution say Davies also deliberately blocked in a visitor to the street with his car following a parking dispute.
Graham Davies, defending, claimed most of the evidence was "hear say" and an Asbo was not appropriate.
Chairwoman of the magistrates, Anne Young, warned Davies that failure to comply with the order could result in a custodial sentence.
The order comes just 15 months after James' younger brother, 18-year-old Matthew, was himself given an Asbo.
Their father said: "I think James has been given a rough deal. I don't think the evidence was that strong and certain people in Cefn Fforest seem to be going against us.
"Could people be picking on my family? I certainly think there are some vendettas against us. I don't think we are that bad.
"There are people much worse than us."
PC Wayne Roberts, crime and disorder reduction officer for Blackwood police, said: "It is pleasing to see that the public have supported in this manner.
"It sends out a clear message to all that if you behave in an anti-social manner in the Caerphilly county borough then we will evoke the anti-social behaviour order process on you."
