IT'S a choice between life as a pilot in the RAF or as an actor for a Newport schoolboy, but as Daniel Morgan Jones has won one of the leading roles in a popular family show acting is to the fore at the moment.
The Newport schoolboy is taking to the stage for the first time in Newport Playgoers society's production of The Witches at the Dolman Theatre in the city.
Daniel, 11, a pupil at Glasllwch Primary School, is revelling in his part as Bruno in the Roald Dahl children's classic, which also stars 11-year-old James Ward as Boy, and Wesley Maddocks, ten, of Cwmbran, who is to alternate the part of Bruno with Daniel.
The three boys were picked out at auditions for the roles and have been rehearsing since December.
James, a pupil at St Mary's School, is no stranger to the Dolman, having played the role of Kay in The Snow Queen two years ago.
The Witches is at the Dolman Theatre from March 15-19, and tickets are available by calling 01633 265660 or from the visitors' centre at Newport Library.
