IT'S a sign of the times when a country wins their first two Six Nations Championship games, but there is still widespread discontent and dissatisfaction.
That is the case with France, who have beaten Scotland and England, and will make it a hat-trick if they get the better of Wales tomorrow.
It's a situation which 69-times capped winger Philippe Saint-Andre acknowledges - and the former French ace, now director of rugby at Sale, warns Wales it is unthinkable France will perform as 'badly' again!
"It's not enough to win in France, you have to play with flair as well," Saint-Andre told the Argus, referring to the solitary try the French have managed in those two opening matches.
"Now we need to play rugby because the team needs to perform and coach Bernard Laporte is under pressure, especially as we can all see the flair of the Welsh team.
"I can't think that the French team will play as badly in three consecutive games.
"They will be very strong this time, with players like Jauzion and Betsen back so we should see a good French performance.
"We played very badly against England and managed to win (Dimitri Yachvili kicked six penalties in their 18-17 win), so France will be confident on Saturday."
Saint-Andre, scorer of 33 tries in his 69 Tests, warns Wales France will attack through their powerful pack in the early stages at least.
"The French team will use their scrum and put big pressure on there, their front five is very strong and they will play for territory because of their coach Laporte," he said.
"But the new full back (Laharrague) loves to counter-attack, so I think France will run more this time with Jauzion in for Liebenberg who kicks too much."
But Saint-Andre, who played in the 1991 and 1995 World Cups, agrees there is a new-found respect for Wales in world rugby, not just because of their opening two championship victories but in the manner of their performances.
"Everyone respects Wales now, they needed to beat a big team like England," he said. "Wales have so much talent and so many matchwinners, I think Gavin Henson is world class and Shane Williams has got a lot of talent.
Stephen Jones is a very good goalkicker who kicked six penalties for Clermont Auvergne last week and Gareth Thomas is playing very well for Toulouse.
"But on Saturday the pressure is not about Wales but about the French players. The expectations are that France will win - and that they must do it by scoring tries.
"They need to find a good balance and go forward. I think Wales have improved a lot, but now is not the best moment to play France."
