HE AIN'T nothin' like a hound dog - but his chest plumage makes Elvis the buff turkey look as though he's sporting a chest wig.
So that's how the feathered resident of Cefn Mably Farm Park, near Newport, got his name - one of an increasing number of animals in sanctuaries across Gwent who are named after celebrities because of their little quirks.
And alongside the bird who likes a little shake, rattle 'n' turkey roll at Cefn Mably is a Welsh sporting icon - Giggsy.
Only this isn't Ryan Giggs, the winger, who has electrifed games for Wales and Manchester United. This is Giggsy the five-year-old donkey, born at Cefn Mably, who loves to dribble a football almost as much as his famous namesake.
Christine Hill, farm manager at Cefn Mably Farm, said: "We named the donkey Giggsy because he likes to play football and because of his skills."
At Edinburgh Zoo staff said Ellen MacArthur was the obvious inspiration for their new hippo's name. Kathleen Standen, a senior keeper at Edinburgh Zoo, said: "Ellen loves the water, just like her namesake, and spends a lot of time paddling about in the pool."
At All Creatures Great and Small, Cwmbran, the staff name all the animals that come to them with either famous names or names to suit their characters.
Basil, the four-month-old kitten, a former stray, has been named after Basil Fawlty of Fawlty Towers fame because of his, er "outgoing and playful character". Thankfully, staff say he won't be beating up a car with a branch.
Joanne Rhys-Evans, manager, said Zorro, an unwanted farm cat, five, is also named because of the mask of black fur on his face reminiscent of the legendary Spanish swordsman's disguise.
Lulu the 13-year-old cat may not be ginger, but she can still miaow as loud and long as her pop star namesake singing Shout! - earning her the name of the singer.
And Chinese goose Jackie Chan can mimick the moves of the famous movie star's kung fu action with a flap of his wing.
So move over, Rover and Tiddles, your days as pet names may well be numbered.
