FIRST performed starring the great Richard Burton in 1944, Clwyd Theatr Cymru's version of The Druid's Rest by Emlyn Williams, pictured, arrives at Newport's Riverfront.
The play sees Emlyn Williams at his funniest. When Lord Ffynnon decides to don a false identity as a travelling salesman in order to mingle among the common people, he adopts the name of Smith and books into The Druid's Rest. Unfortunately, there is a murderer at large by the name of Smith and Lord Ffynnon is immediately mistaken for him.
The Druid's Rest plays at the Riverfront on Tuesday, February 22 and Wednesday, February 23 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost between £7 and £14.50 and are available at the box office on 01633 656757.
