THE STAR of ITV's the sketch show Lee Mack, pictured, is one of the most sought after and inventive live stand-ups on the comedy circuit.

He is also to visit Abergavenny's Borough Theatre on Friday, February 25, at 8pm.

He is also an accomplished sketch writer, having won a coveted BAFTA for Best Comedy Programme, as well as a British Comedy Award nomination.

His talents have been noted across the Atlantic, and he has just recorded an American version of the show with that king of comedy, Kelsey Grammer, star of the eponymous classic Frasier.

He said: "Having just spent four months working with Americans on a TV show, I am looking forward to getting on the road once again, meeting proper normal people with dirty teeth."

He is currently writing the Lee Mack Show for BBC Radio 2.

A recent review of his work in London daily newspaper Metro said: "If it's a barrel of belly-laughs and achy jaw muscles you're after, Lee Mack cuts to the funnybone like a knife."

Tickets for the show cost between £9 and £11 and are available at the box office on 01873 850805.
