DRAMA students at one Gwent school are gearing up to wow audiences in Newport's Dolman Theatre.
They are hoping their musical Next! is a big hit next week when it opens. Around 60 Fairwater High School pupils are involved in the production, which is part of their GNVQ intermediate or AVCE advanced level coursework. The show is inspired by Chorus Line and Pop Idol and tells the story of 30 young hopefuls as they audition for parts in a brand new West End musical.
Head of music and performing arts Stephen Benavente has written the material.
He said rehearsals were going well.
Next! is at the Dolman Theatre, on February 24 and 25, at 7.15pm. Tickets are £5 and are available from the school.
