VISITORS to Technology Wales 2005 are being promised access to some of the leading lights in the web-enabled IT industry.

TW05 takes place on May 13 at Cardiff International Arena and features a day-long exhibition, seminar programme and awards ceremony.

The seminar programme includes an "SME technol-ogy survival kit" which is a collection of seminars focusing on how small and medium-sized businesses can make best use of leading-edge technology.

James Neale, managing director of nm2 Group, a new-media and e-business solutions provider, will talk about the art of using technology to generate new business leads. Nm2 is the company behind Go4.it, the world's first speech-enabled search engine and business directory.

Mr Neale said: "One of the main strengths of Go4.it is the sophistication of its business search technologies. "For example, if you have a meeting in London, you can look for the nearest restaurant to the host company and arrange your meeting there while at the same time book into the nearest hotel."

Mr Neale will also be discussing online marketing strategies.

Other seminars will include business networking by Huw Owen, chairman of Ecademy Wales, and the merits of incubation by Peter Harman, deputy chief executive of UK Business Incubation. Gwyn Williams, of Clay Shaw Thomas, will talk about funding technology ideas and Richard Cliff, of Uwic, will talk about accessing help from the academic sector.

Helen Murdoch, managing director of HM Marketing, will speak about digital marketing.

TW05's exhibition area will feature a careers pavilion sponsored by consulting giant Capgemini, and a techno-demo area which will house demonstrations of cutting-edge kits.

TW05 organiser Trisha Howard said: "As the managing director of a Welsh SME, I believe wholeheartedly that staying up-to-date with technology is vital for the success of the business. I urge Welsh entrepreneurs to learn as much as they can from the array of industry leaders who will be speaking."
