HUNDREDS of members of the Bangladeshi community in Newport celebrated a key Moslem festival yesterday.
More than 400 people gathered at Maindee Primary School, Newport, to celebrate the Eid Festival.
Eid Festival falls on the first day after the month of Ramadan, special food is prepared and it is made a special occasion for children.
Mashahid Ali, organiser of the event, said it was a chance for the community to come together.
This year was the seventh year of the festival, and each year it is more successful.
Mr Ali said: "It started seven years ago with 30 or 40 people, and now we get 400 to 500 members of the community coming here."
