FIFTY Gwent people raised 8,000 for the Tsunami Appeal with a 21-mile walk through the night.
The walkers left Tesco in Ebbw Vale at midnight on Friday to walk the 21 miles to Tesco in Maesglas, Newport.
Seven hours and a number of blisters later, and they had made it and managed to raise 8,000 through donations for the Tsunami Appeal.
Julian Lott, from Ebbw Vale, organiser of the walk, said: "We are over the moon with the amount raised.
"We decided to do the walk through the night for the extra challenge. Everyone enjoyed it but we are very tired now.
"The weather was perfect, dry and fresh, and we had a lot of support from people who were leaving pubs and cars going past beeping support at us.
"The last four miles were the hardest because it was uphill and we were getting closer, but I would probably do it again."
He said they decided to do something to help the people devastated by the Tsunami after seeing the coverage over Christmas.
