JAMES Yorkston and The Athletes continue to be raved about over coffee tables and cappuccinos.
And the band is on hand to reap the popular seeds they've sown with another tour, coming your way.
The sleepy band come to the Chapter Arts Centre on Sunday, February 6. A new single from the band, Shipwreckers, was released on Monday, January 31.
Continuing the water theme in James Yorkston's ever expanding canon, it follows Just Beyond The River, which is the band's second and most recent album.
The single has been remixed for the radio by renowned knob-twiddlers Bacon and Quamby and is out on Domino Records.
Like much of the album from which it is taken, it is uncannily good and seems to find its way intuitively into the subconscious.
James Yorkston's voice is so calming that all the din of everyday fades into the background and the listener is at peace for as long as the band plays.
