CANADIAN prop Rod Snow's testimonial game appearance at the end of May could be his last at Rodney Parade.
The 54-times capped international (pictured) will sit down with the Newport Gwent Dragons management in the next few weeks to decide whether to play on for another season.
"At this stage it would be fair to say I'd like to think I can do that," said the most popular of players who has been at Newport for ten years.
"But at the same time I've had such a good run in my career, virtually ten years injury free, while this year I've already had two knee surgeries, that may be my body telling me something.
"It's something I'm going to sit down and discuss at the club over the next few weeks and make a firm decision. I certainly haven't made any final decisions yet."
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old has made himself available for Canada's summer Churchill Cup internationals after missing his country's Autumn internationals.
"I had to pull out of the Autumn internationals because I felt at this stage of my career I had a duty to my club with a new coach and a new set-up," he said. But if the (Canadian) Union still think I have something to offer, because it is a hugely inexperienced squad, then I'm available."
Snow hopes to finalise a date for his testimonial game within the next few weeks.
The problem is that Heineken Cup and Celtic Cup finals, the FA Cup final and other testimonial games are scheduled around the same time while the Dragons want to start work as soon as possible after the season ends on relaying the Rodney Parade pitch.
Until a date is finalised, Snow is unable to confirm any names for the game between a Newport Gwent Dragons XV and a Rod Snow XV, but a number of current and past internationals will take part.
He could not confirm whether past Newport stars such as Gary Teichmann and Shane Howarth would be among them.
"I've got lots of names in mind," he said.
"It will be a good rugby game, but more than anything it will be a fun, entertainment spectacle I hope.
"There will be a lot of current players, but also a lot of past players who haven't played in a long time. I think the fans will appreciate something like that."
Tickets are going well for Snow's testimonial dinner at the Celtic Manor on February 19.
"We are still a month away and we are already more than two thirds of the way towards our target of around 600 people," he said.
Max Boyce will provide the entertainment and former Newport and Canada outside half Gareth Rees will be the guest speaker.
