IN A CHALLENGING corporate, market and economic environment, Mitsubishi Motors Europe (MME) remains committed to its Turnaround efforts. A key contributor to MMC's Revitalisation, MME will open the 2005 season having delivered an 8.6% increase in sales last year (225,826 units v 207,939), having gained numerous accolades for New Colt and ready to launch the coupe-like Colt three-door and the turbo charged 150 ps Colt CZT.

As a showcase for Mitsubishi Motors' focus on Europe, the 2005 Geneva Motor Show will feature a selection of new cars tailored for this market, as well as the race-machines of its WRC and Cross Country teams, the headquarters of which are both based in Europe. Star of the show for Mitsubishi Motors will be a coupe-cabriolet concept of New Colt. Echoing Mitsubishi Motors' first ever show car - the 1962 Colt 600 Convertible, also present on the stand - it will review the car jointly developed with Pininfarina and due to be built in Turin (Italy) from early 2006.

Based on the Colt five-door platform rather than the shorter Colt three-door for packaging purposes, it takes its design cues from the acclaimed 2003 CZ2 Cabriolet concept. Compact (3,89 m) and well planted on its long wheelbase, wide tracks and 18-inch wheels, it offers a purposeful chunky look, matching the performance of its proposed 150 ps 1.5-litre MIVEC turbo-charged engine.
