We just weren't good enough - that was Chris Anderson's blunt verdict after Newport Gwent Dragons failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup.
Though the Dragons scored three tries to Newcastle's three, they went down to a 25-7 defeat, Ceri Sweeney's late conversion miss denying them a bonus point, though his bad pass gifted Newcastle one try, and forward pass featured heavily in another.
"We did a good job in the first half and we were well in the hunt then and we worked hard throughout, but we just weren't good enough," complained Anderson.
