OVERWHELMING noise merchants Planes Mistaken For Stars make another welcome trip to South Wales this weekend.
The grimy post-hardcore types can be found in Le Pub, Newport, tomorrow.
They're as melodic as they are noisy but emo drips they ain't with real tunes and songs with depth.
They rock out while weaving melodies into layers of guitars and feedback with catchy and memorable results.
The band hail from Denver, USA, where they have created a tortured yet shimmering music all of their own.
The emotion is gut-wrenching as can be heard on their release Knife In The Marathon which has more screams per track than most hardcore records!
It follows the band's eponymous EP release. which is even more intense and which showcased Planes Mistaken For Stars' deft mix of hardcore and intelligence.
And while it's true a casual inspection might lead the listener to believe that all the songs sound the same, Planes Mistaken For Stars have definitely got it where it counts.
