www.mappy.co.uk is easy to use and offers town maps, pedestrian routes and useful addresses, as well as road maps.
An excellent site for UK travel is the well- designed www.multimap.com which gives you detailed maps, aerial views, and Ordnance Survey grid references.
www.mapquest.com does not have the most detailed maps but provides city plans for anywhere in the world quickly. It also offers road trip planners, with the facility to zoom in on any part of the journey.
www.expedia.co.uk ,which we've featured before as one of the most comprehensive travel websites, has an excellent map section. It will allow you to key in hotel names, offers a route-finding service and has useful links for making travel arrangements.
Other sites worth visiting are: www.map24.co.uk which covers UK and Europe; www.ordsvy.gov.uk which offers maps for sale; www.viamichelin.com, a good all-round site with route-finder service; www.mapsonus.com, which helps you find your way around the USA; www.mapsworldwide.co.uk, sells paper and CD-Rom maps, including road maps and cycle routes.
