MAINTENANCE work on the M4 in Newport is to take place over the next year.
It is due to start tomorrow and will last until December 10.
It will mean either the eastbound or westbound carriageway of the M4 at the Brynglas Tunnels being closed from 8pm until 6am, with a contraflow operating on the open carriageway.
The eastbound slip road at junction 26, Malpas, which connects the A4051 with the eastbound M4, will also be closed from 8pm until 6am.
Traffic wishing to travel east from junction 26 would need to get on to the motorway westbound at the junction, leave at junction 27 and rejoin the M4 eastbound.
A 40mph speed limit will also be in force when the carriageway at the Brynglas Tunnels is closed.
The work is to be carried out between Tuesdays and Saturdays from January to March and between Fridays and Saturdays from April to December.
