There are sophisticated market analysis techniques, refined tools to distil figures from an enormous and amorphous mass of data, sometimes demonstrating infinitesimal growth. CALIFORNIA EV TOURING The important thing is to exaggerate, in the saddle of a motorcycle which has everything - really everything - it takes to turn a long trip into a cruise on the road, in comfort and safety. The lines challenge the passage of time, with the classic drop shaped tank, chrome typical of a true cruiser and attractive spoked wheels. The technological content is, on the other hand, bang up to date. The 90 V-Twin has hydraulic tappets for lower noise levels and a three-way catalytic converter with Lambda sensor to drastically reduce emissions.
Performance at low revs is enhanced by the cross piece between the two cylinders and the efficient oil-jet piston cooling system increases efficiency during demanding riding conditions and also prolongs the working life. The components are top class and include an elegant protective windshield in colours matching the livery of the bike, foot guards, and practical elegant side panniers fitted as standard with a full 40 litre capacity and an unmistakable style, thanks to the insert which re-proposes the colour of the tank.
The pannier brackets are made from stainless steel, immune to the passage of time and with a shape which maintains the bike's high coefficient of aerodynamic penetration. Heated handgrips are also fitted as standard because the progress of the California EV Touring must never stop, not even in the grips of winter. For those who are never satisfied, there is a 12 Volt socket you can use, for example, to recharge your mobile phone. The chrome is refined and for 2004 a new and sober "Grigio Magnete" livery has been introduced alongside the two existing colours.

The "On the Road" legend comes back to life in its most recent incarnation, the latest example of a species which has evolved year after year, kilometre after kilometre, while maintaining all the charm of its origins. The relaxed riding position, large protective windshield, low deep throb of the 90 V-Twin are the ingredients of a recipe which has nourished the collective imagination for entire generations.
A recipe today enhanced by ultra-modern technology as demonstrated by the three-way catalytic converter with Lambda sensor, powerful 320 mm double front disc brake operated by a Brembo calliper with four opposed pistons, modern graphics of the instrumentation and new "Grigio Luce" colour. But also by comfort and road holding, with an adjustable suspension system which adapts to the load and type of route with a Marzocchi upside-down fork with massive 45 mm inners at the front and double hydraulic shock absorber at the back. And then there is the vast range of accessories enabling you to construct your "made to measure" California EV.
STONE TOURING Two wheels, an engine and a frame. All you need to travel, with no superfluous superstructure. This is the spirit of the Stone Touring, a bike which believes in the beauty of simplicity. Streamlined no-frills lines, minimalist style, classical design, clean silent shaft drive and trendy colours are the main characteristics of the youngest in the great California family. Innate elegance, made up of spontaneity and naturalness, a personality to slip on like a suit or a comfortable pair of timeless jeans.
The 90 V-Twin is a visible sign of tradition, but beneath its unmistakeable form it conceals innovations such as the hydraulic tappet system, more efficient and silent. Emissions are also reduced to a minimum, because the three-way catalytic converter with Lambda sensor guarantees respect for the environment. The high tensile steel frame is ultra-strong and its rigidity provides a more sensitive and responsive ride.
The hydraulic telescopic front fork with its massive 45 mm inners contributes to the qualities of the front which behaves perfectly when going into bends and maintains direction impeccably on straights. The comfort of the rider and passenger is guaranteed by the fully adjustable double rear shock absorber. On longer trips, protection is provided by the large windshield fitted as standard, while all the indispensable can be packed away in the exclusive set of travel bags.
