Make Rodney Parade a fortress again, urges returning Newport Gwent Dragons captain Jason Forster.

The key openside flanker is expected to be on the bench for Saturday's home Heineken Cup-tie against Edinburgh which the Dragons must win with a bonus point to have any chance of retaining their interest in the competition.

He has been out for over a month after going down with appendicitis, a condition which helped explain his own loss of form.

"We've got a lot of home games to come for the rest of the season and we've got to re-establish the fear factor that we had and the fortress Rodney Parade mentality," said Forster.

"The Dragons pack hasn't quite got it now, we haven't been as dominant as previously and we just need that extra one per cent.

"We haven't been playing well which is disappointing, but you don't lose overnight what we had last year. International players had been away and there were different guys coming in, it just wasn't to be and we lost some games, but that's water under the bridge now.

"We're at a very important stage where we have got to go out and beat Edinburgh with a bonus point and rely on Perpignan beating Newcastle. Then it'll be all on the last game in the group.

"We need to do the business on Saturday, then it'll all be back on. We have a huge responsibility on our shoulders, we need to be a bit more cohesive as individuals and as a team.

"We've been playing in patches, we've shown glimpses of what we can do. We need to be consistent and solid.

"It'll take a few games for me to get back into it, but I'll try to bust a gut for the boys. It wouldn't be fair to come straight back in and start on Saturday, I haven't played for four or five weeks, so maybe I'll get 25-30 minutes."

Meanwhile, Rob Andrew, director of rugby at Newcastle, who lead the group by seven points, says their game at Perpignan on Saturday is the biggest game in their history.

"We are up against two quality sides in a fortnight with Newport Gwent Dragons facing us on Sunday week," he said. "We know that we will have to get every part of our game working to come away with the win we need."
