REJUVINATING old fixtures and fittings will soon be all the rage if a business start-up at New Inn has anything to do with it.

All Surface Technology wants to help you recondition your old floor coverings, work surfaces, cabinets, appliances and bathtubs.

The business has been founded by husband and wife team Steve and Maggie Williams. They are using what they claim to be revolutionary US technology to repair, re-colour and resurface a huge range of items in an environmentally-friendly way.

Mr Williams said: "In essence, we provide an alternative to throwing out everything from cabinets and work tops to appliances and sinks."

The company's licensed technology allows everything to be resurfaced in situ, and Mr Williams is targeting domestic and commercial premises.

"The beauty is that households and businesses will no longer need to throw away items that are either partially or severely damaged, scratched or aged. As well as cost advantages, there is an enormous environmental benefit to us all in the longer term."

He said he could offer a range of textures from smooth to granite-effect, colours in the thousands and a matt or high-gloss finish.

All Surface Technology has been launched from new premises with help from enterprise support provider CODA which is based in Newport.

The Williams' have been on CODA's Aspire Programme which - with Welsh Develop-ment Agency support - offers mentoring and consultancy to entrepreneurs.

CODA business mentor Steve Allen said: "Steve and Maggie have done a tremendous job in sourcing a product that is truly unique and then setting about its launch in the UK and Europe.

"Their new premises at New Inn have been superbly kitted-out as a showroom and technical training centre. They will serve as a platform on which to build employee and customer numbers."

Mr Williams said his new business had already created seven jobs.
