A week after a Caldicot man went missing in Tenby, police say they have no new information as to his whereabouts.

James Nutley, 25, from Deepweir Gardens, was last seen in Tenby at midnight on October 24.

The talented young golfer was staying with friends on a golfing trip in the town when he disappeared.

Since then, Dyfed Powys Police have searched buildings, coastline and beaches, and carried out appeals for information, but they say they have no news and have stopped physically searching.

Last week, possessions belonging to Mr Nutley, including his driving licence, were found on the beach below The Clarence Hotel, The Esplanade, Tenby.

Inspector Lesley Clark, of Tenby police, said: "We are still actively inquiring about the disappearance, however, the physical searching of areas has ceased at the moment. Obviously, if more intelligence comes in, we will resume searching."

He said: "This remains a missing person inquiry and we remain focused on trying to find him rather than a body.

"We are hoping and assuming he is still alive."

Members of Mr Nutley's family have been in Tenby since his disappearance, helping police with their search.

His uncle, Jim Harris, said last night: "You have got to keep your hopes up and be positive. Every restaurant, every takeaway and every pub in Tenby has now got a poster in the window. Everywhere you go in the town it is in your face, so that should hopefully glean some information."

Mr Nutley works at St Pierre Golf Club and is a member of Dewstow Golf Club.

He is 6ft 2in tall, with brown hair, and was wearing a white top with blue sleeves and blue jeans.

Mr Nutley had been to three pubs on the night he went missing - The Lifeboat Inn on Tudor Square, The Three Mariners on George Street, and then the Prince of Wales.
