Jarcrew are the surprise guests at a Halloween show in Le Pub tomorrow night but discerning ears will be trained on Martini Henry Rifles.

The three piece release their long-awaited debut album, Superbastard, on Monday, November 1, but they'll be airing it in Newport on the weekend.

It's an incredible rollercoaster ride of B movie punk proportions.

A drum machine (what happened to the drummer?) gives them a Godflesh-like industrial feel.

An obvious penchant for Roger Corman and his ilk lends them a faintly surreal air.

And an appreciation for screeching rhythm guitars places them firmly in the Steve Albini camp of tortured eardrums.

An ideal band for a Halloween night, South Wales visual presentation unit, No Ground Processes, will be projecting horror films onto Martini Henry Rifle's performance.

Jarcrew will be making their first South Wales appearance since playing at the Cooper's Field Event in Cardiff during the summer.

Since then they've been recording a new album and touring Iceland from which they have just returned.

Also on the bill are Spider Kitten and Giveamanakick.

Spider Kitten is a two-man side project of Newport grunge revivalists Mombomb who play deathly slow, improvised extreme feedback drone.

Band members claim that people who've heard Spider Kitten in the correct way - on a big sound system with loud bass - have complained of nausea, dizziness and tinnitus.

Giveamanakick are a stubbornly uncommercial guitar rock band from Limerick, Ireland.

They recently released their debut album Is It OK To Be Loud, Jesus? It was recorded after several years of touring and supporting the likes of The Icarus Line, Ex-Girl, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Poke, Electric Eel Shock, The Soledad Brothers, Melt Banana, The Hanson Bros, Black Eyes and Rocket From the Crypt!
