A DOG was left tied up to a bin outside an animal rescue centre.

Now RSPCA staff have called the terrier-type pooch Dusty and want his owner to call them so they can find out the dog's age.

Staff at the RSPCA centre in Hartridge Farm Road, Newport, found the dog tied to a wheelie bin.

Animal carer Julie Davies said: "We want to know the reason for him being dumped. He is a lovely dog with a good temperament.

"Some of the customers said they thought the man was tying him up to come inside but then he just drove off and left him, he has been shaking ever since.

"The poor thing doesn't know what has happened to him. We just want the owner to get in touch - anonymously if they prefer - to tell us how old he is and his name.

"He was well looked after, in good condition and has been neutered. We want to find a home for him."
