IT USED to be that if you wanted to watch innovative and unusual dance in Newport, you had to go to Zanzibar - but the Riverfront's line-up has something for everybody.
The programme begins on November 2 with The Cholmondeleys & The Featherstonehaughs celebrating 20 years of ground-breaking contemporary dance.
The all-female Cholmondeleys will swap with the all-male Featherstonehaughs for a performance of their greatest hits. On November 9, Newport's own Independent Ballet Wales debut at the Riverfront with their interpretation of Shakespeare's classic love story Romeo and Juliet.
Combining live music, video and animation, Evoking Rasa brings classical Indian dance to Newport on November 15, and on January 8 Swansea's acclaimed Ballet Russe, who perform in the classical Bolshoi style, will perform The Nutcracker.
