WO women are being sought by police after passing on a counterfeit note at a shop in Brynmawr.
The duo, who spoke with Irish accents, also tried to change a fake Scottish £50 note in another store but were foiled by a suspicious shop assistant.
The incident occurred at around 3.20pm last Thursday.
One of the women is described as being around 28 years-of-age, 5ft 4ins, with a medium build and short blonde hair. She was wearing a white jumper and jeans. There is no description for the other woman. They were driving a red Volkswagen van.
PC Gareth Jones, crime and disorder reduction officer for Brynmawr police station said: "If shop staff are not happy with any notes they should not accept them. "If they believe anyon e is trying to pass on counterfeit notes they should contact us immediately on 01495 310773."
