THIS year marks the 50th anniversary of the famous Regent Street Christmas lights. To celebrate escape... has teamed up with the organisers to offer one reader the chance to win the ultimate Christmas experience in London's most fashionable shopping destination.

With new lights this year, Christmas is the most beautiful time to visit the famous shopping street.

The lights switch-on, on Sunday, November 7, is considered one of the great occasions in the Christmas calendar and is the climax of London's biggest festive street party. This year Regent Street will be closed to traffic for the afternoon and will come alive with entertainment for all the family, climaxing with a free concert and the switch-on of the lights by a celebrity.

This fantastic prize is worth more than £1,000 and includes: £500 to spend on Regent Street, a one-night stay for two including breakfast (one room) in one of London's top hotels, The Langham; dinner for two in its restaurant and two tickets to see a matinee of the blockbuster West End show Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Hotel accommodation is redeemable on a Saturday or Sunday night between Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, December 5, 2004.
