A HEARTBROKEN widow is offering a reward for the return of her stolen laptop which held photos from the last year of her tragic husband's life.

Patricia Thomas, 47, of St Brides, Newport, said the computer contained more than 500 images, all taken during the final year of her husband Michael's life as he battled lung cancer.

Mr Thomas, 52, lost his fight against the illness last month.

The laptop was the only item stolen in the raid on her home in the grounds of the hotel they owned, The Elm Tree.

She said: "I don't want the laptop back - just the pictures and memories which Michael's family and I treasure."

Some of the photos were of the couple's final holiday together in Tenerife where they went to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

Also stored on there were letters Mr Thomas had written to friends and family.

"Every single memory of his last few months in his life was on there," added Mrs Thomas.

"All our pictures on holiday are gone and little movie clips."

Mrs Thomas said the cancer spread from her husband's lung to his bones and brain.

She bought him a Shitzu puppy called Charlie to cheer him up.

Mrs Thomas said: "He loved Charlie, all the pictures of them were in the laptop.

"I'm upset because I almost finished filing the pictures and copying them to disc, now I don't know if I'll see them again."

"We had good times captured on that laptop, please can anyone help me to get it back, I am devastated."

Mrs Thomas is offering a reward for information leading to the return of the images and the conviction of the offenders and police would like anyone with information about the black Inspiron Dell laptop to contact DC Justin O' Keefe on 01633 244999.
