THE tenth anniversary of a Risca theatre company is being celebrated with a run of special shows this weekend.
The Really Cuckoo Theatre Company was formed in 1994, and their first production was Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, enabling young people from eight upwards to experience appearing in front of a live audience.
Now, to celebrate what they have achieved, members of the company have selected a compilation of previous shows to perform for the community.
The show will be at 7pm this Friday and Saturday, and at 3pm on Sunday at St Mary's church hall in Risca.
Company member Sue Wiltshire said: "I would urge the community to come and see just how talented our company is.
"We have members travelling from Rogerstone, Cwmcarn, Pontypool, Crumlin and beyond, as well as our home-grown talent from Risca and Cross Keys.
"The commitment and camaraderie shown by these young people is heart-warming.
"Cuckoos means so much to them all, and to the adults who have provided these opportunities for them to perform."
Tickets for the show are £4 and are available online from tickets@cuckoos. freeuk.com or from Malcolm Griffiths on 01495 270455, or on the door.
