THIS is the 53-year-old Cwmbran woman who was found dead in a Cwmbran flat.
Family of Pauline Elsie Jones yesterday paid tribute to a "wonderful, patient, caring, friendly person".
Mrs Jones' body was found in the flat at Leadon Court, Thornhill, at 5pm, and detectives launched a major investigation, drafting in 45 officers.
A 44-year-old Cwmbran man was arrested on Sunday in connection with her death and was still being quizzed by police today.
Mrs Jones was identified following a post-mortem examination on Saturday, though police have been unable to establish when she died.
Mrs Jones' family released the following statement last night: "Pauline was a wonderful, patient, caring, friendly person who was liked by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by family and friends alike."
Detective Superintendent Geoff Ronayne, who is heading the investigation, said he wanted to hear from anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously, or carrying items from the flat.
He said: "We are particularly interested in movements around the flat in the week leading up to Friday, from Monday onwards."
