DETECTIVES hunting a Newport man wanted in connection with the alleged rape and kidnap of a 15-year-old girl last night appealed to family and friends who may be shielding him to give him up.
Micam Roland Williams, 32, is wanted for questioning after a 15-year-old girl alleged she was raped repeatedly at a flat in Edison Ridge in Malpas after being abducted in a Cardiff street and driven to Newport.
Detectives revealed they have spoken to Mr Williams (pictured) on the telephone to try to persuade him to hand himself in, but he has refused to give himself up.
They have also warned he may pose a danger to women.
Detective Superintendent Kevin O'Neill said: " If someone is harbouring him we would urge them to look at their consciences and come forward. This was an horrific incident and we need to know where Micam Roland Williams is.
"We have managed to speak to him on the telephone to persuade him to hand himself in, but he refused."
The alleged attack happened at around 10pm on Monday, September 27.
The 15-year-old girl says she was abducted from Janet Street, Splott, Cardiff; dragged into the back seat of a black Rover car and driven to a flat in Edison Ridge.
Police say the girl alleges she was detained at the flat overnight and was raped several times before managing to escape at about 2pm the following afternoon.
Mr Williams is described as Afro-Caribbean, of medium build, 5'11" tall with short hair and a goatee beard.
Police have recovered a black Rover car belonging to Williams in Bacon Place, near Edison Ridge, but are appealing to anyone who saw anything in the Janet Street or Malpas areas to come forward.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr Williams or who witnessed anything in the Malpas area should contact Cardiff police on 02920 527420 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
