THE man who ran over three people in an horrific hit and run admitted the triple killing in court today.
Steven John Price, of Ty Pwca Road, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, admitted using his father's 4x4 to plough into Martin Connop, Emma Proctor and John Gibbings as they walked along the village's Five Locks Road in April.
He pleaded guilty to their manslaughter because of diminished responsibility.
Mr Connop, 31, and Mr Gibbings, 37, were pronounced dead at the scene, and 25-year-old Miss Proctor died in hospital the following day.
Unemployed Price, 32, had been remanded in custody at Ashworth secure psychiatric hospital in Liverpool.
The tragedy happened as the three friends were walking to a barbecue at Mr Connop's home, on Ty Pwca Road, just after 4.30pm on April 14. Others in the group, including a baby in a pushchair, escaped unhurt. Price is to be sentenced later.
