ARGUS readers have flooded us with entries after we teamed up with a new Newport shop to offer them the chance to win a special children's birthday party.
That Pottery Place on Griffin Street is the new pottery shop in Newport which offers children and adults the opportunity to paint their own masterpieces and have some fun with some ceramic tuition on hand.
The Argus has teamed up with the shop to offer one lucky reader the opportunity to win a special children's birthday party for up to 20 guests.
And we have already been inundated with entries for our competition.
The parents of eight-year-old Jac Seymour from Croesyceiliog want their son to have the party after he was unable to have his usual swimming party this year after being diagnosed with leukaemia.
His father Gareth Seymour said: "Winning this competition would be make a brave boy very, very happy."
Other entries include Joshua Rungrose-Penn from Newport, who has recently being diagnosed with a form of brain damage and eight-year-old Ellie Beecham from Gaer, who her mother Tracy says is already 'very creative' and loves anything artistic.
All our entries are now in the running with a chance of winning the party prize.
The lucky group will be treated to a one hour pottery painting session with tuition.
The children can choose between a dinner plate or a mug which they then design and hand paint. It will then be glazed and fired and the resulting masterpieces delivered a few days later.
That Pottery Place will also provide birthday food and drinks, a fantastic birthday cake, a goody bag for every child, and entertainment and games with prizes.
The shop can be contacted on 01633 253431 and there is still time for you to enter.
All you have to do to enter is write in explaining why you think your child deserves an extra special birthday party this year in no more than 100 words, and name one of the items the winning group will be able to choose from to hand paint.
Please send your entry, together with your name and address to Pottery Party competition, Newsroom, South Wales Argus, Cardiff Road, Newport, South Wales, NP20 3QN. Closing date October 4, 2004.
