A FUN-packed day for all the family is promised at the Usk Show this weekend.
Up to 18,000 visitors are expected to attend the one-day agricultural show which is being held at Gwernesney this year and is billed as an ideal day out for all the family.
Organisers say they are hoping the recent spell of dry, summer weather will return for the show which starts on Saturday, September 11.
The show, which is the last agricultural show of the season, is always a popular one for people living in the country, but recent years have also seen a marked increase in the number of town dwellers, enjoying the exhibits and trade stands.
The show will include a number of interesting livestock events from dogs and poultry to rabbits and cage birds and show jumping.
Other entertainment includes hot air ballooning, food halls with cookery demonstrations, and vintage tractor sections and numerous trade stands.
A fancy dress competition with a grand parade of prizewinners is also scheduled.
Organisers boast that the Usk show offers a day that caters for all ages, with something on offer for parents as well as children.
The show opens from 9am to 6pm offering free car parking and a free bus leaving from Twyn square in Usk.
Entry is £5 for adults, £3 for OAPS and £1 for children.
