DISABLED children got creative yesterday as they came together to make items for a special fashion show for our Sparkle Appeal.
Children who are set to benefit from the new centre to be built at High Cross worked together at Coleg Gwent's site in Nash, Newport, in the first of three workshops preparing for a Sparkle Fashion Show.
We launched the Sparkle Appeal last December with the aim to raise £250,000 towards the £6 million children's centre.
Rebecca Maggs and Aisha Mitha, who are set to benefit from the centre, and Aisha's sister Amina were among the children who were helping to make and paint a special banner to promote the fashion show.
During the workshops the children will also be making their own carnival clothes, hats and masks for the event.
The fashion show is due to take place on September 10 at Coleg Gwent, Nash.
The children will model their own carnival creations and creations for spring and summer and they will also model clothes from Marks and Spencer and bridal wear.
